I like tune-o-matics and t-o-m style roller bridges of various sorts, usually with string through ferrules instead of any sort of stop bar.
As far as tremolos go, I've installed a bunch of Floyd Rose trems, and while they stay in tune well, they are complicated, so if you want a Floyd Rose and have never had one before, try out a guitar that has one because it seems like in the end most people just end up blocking them solid.
I will not use cheap Floyd Rose trems, by the way, so if you want a Floyd, it will be an original, Schaller, or maybe a Graph Tech.
Kahlers are pretty good units but I've yet to install enough of them to preach their virtues. |
