Vertebrate
Vertebrate started life as a leftover Jackson neck and a set of really cool diMarzio pickups. I made a custom bridge out of aluminium and Fender saddles. The body was poplar as it's actually a rather long guitar and it's a big advantage to be kind of light, and the poplar carves well.

It is, of course, a carved bunch of ribs with a sort of spinal column down the top. It's shot in black lacquer, airbrushed silver and coated in satin lacquer.

This one has a concentric volume and tone control.

I could, and eventually will, build another version of this with a neck thru, my headstock and standard inlays and probably a Kahler trem, but I just haven't got around to it yet.

I welded up the skeleton hand guitar hanger, but it really never worked that great because if you didn't hang it gently it would scratch up the neck. It was coated in the rubber you're supposed to use to coat tool handles, but it didn't work well. It looked cool though.
