Actually this guitar was inspired by Evangelion. The body is korina and the neck is walnut and zebrawood. The body is built with a front half and a back half with the eyes fitted from the inside before gluing up and finishing. They are actually wood balls painted up and lacquered with 36 coats and then polished. The body was then shot with a red mahogany nitrocellulose lacquer shaded a little black at the edges and with a little orange dry brushing at the edges of the eyelids. The inlay on the rosewood fretboard is a glaring eye done in white and black pearl as well as red pearloid. The scale is 25 inches, string through and neck through with a tune-o-matic bridge and Grover Rotomatic locking tuners. The pickups are Golden Age Hot Humbuckers, so this thing really sounds like a hot rodded early sixties SG more than anything. |
